Computer Build 2018

Finally, time to upgrade! Lay my old computer to rest and birth new life. RIP Old Comp 2013-2018. Hello new computer!

That’s a white on black on white computer right there, buddies! A freaking powerhouse! Hungry to eat up them games! Seriously though, this new PC is legit. Night and day difference between my two builds. Well needed to help speed up my Unreal Engine 4 build times and up my FPS in video games.

Supplies

  • ASUS PRIME X370-PRO
  • G.Skill Ripjaws V 16GB
  • AMD Ryzen 7 1800X
  • MSI GeForce GTX 1080
  • SAMSUNG 840 EVO (x2)
  • Seasonic USA PRIME 750

Process

Building computers has been a hobby of mine for a while now and bought most my stuff online… The times have changed. My wallet was never big enough…

For the most part, my builds have never been SUPER difficult. This new build was a bit different, was a bit more difficult. I decided to build everything outside the case, then fit it in. Went pretty smoothly, till the CPU cooler came into play…

I couldn’t get that cooler to mount the correct direction to save my life… Was awful. I even mounted everything into my case with the cooler going the wrong direction, because I thought the cooler didn’t fit correctly with this motherboard. Nope, I’m just a bit new at this.

After fiddling with it for a few hours, I got the bad boy cooler to rotate into the correct position.

Like I said, I powered that bad boy up and ran with it for a couple days with the cooler ass backwards… Once I got it rotated correctly, next came some extra intake fans and one solid LED light at the top.

Very clean. Sexy. Purposely bought everything that had no RGB colors, or could be turned off. Picked up a nice magnetic white light. Voila, the sexiest computer I’ve ever owned.

Cya,
Rob
